About the Team
UCSB Women's Lacrosse is a Sport Club competing under the Department of Recreation at the University of California, Santa Barbara. UCSB boasts two nationally ranked lacrosse teams. Both the men's and women's teams regularly finish in the Top 5 in the nation in their respective national association polls. The women compete regionally in the Western Women's lacrosse League (WWLL) and nationally in the Women's Division Intercollegiate Associates (WDIA) of U.S. Lacrosse, the National Governing Body for the sport. This association governs regular season and national championship tournament play and enforces the use of student-athlete eligibility rules similar to those of the NCAA. UCSB is one of the lead programs in the WDIA and is also one of a select few programs nationwide to carry A, B, & C teams based on interest and demand to participate in this sport at UCSB.

Joining the Team
UCSB women's lacrosse is an open try-out program with A & B teams. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. We'd like to have 12 beginners come out for the team every year. Experienced players are also, of course, welcome. Even if you weren't recruited we have a spot in the program for you.
Steps to Take to Join the Team:
1. Contact head coach

2. Go to the Sport Club Page of the Recreation Department website, register as a sport club athlete and pay either the $30 "Try-It" fee for the first week of practice or the full $205 Fall/Clothing dues. Do this before the first practice on October 5th.
3. All players, new & returning fill out the on-line Player Info Form on the team website before the first team meeting.
5. New sport club athletes print the Physical Examination Form and have it completed and signed by a doctor. This can be sent to your doctor at home and FAXed back to 805-893-5973 (Att: Taggart Malone). Or you can print it and take it to an appointment you make at the Student Health Center or the I.V. Neigborhood Clinic. Turn it in at the first team meeting or bring it to your first practice.
6. Join our Yahoo Group so you're on our e-mail distribution list for all team broadcast e-mails and can access our team calendar.

Support UCSB Lacrosse
UC Santa Barbara has a giving program for lacrosse. The UCSB Student Affairs Grants and Development Office has formalized the donor recognition process for alumni, parents and friends of the University who support the men's and women's lacrosse programs.
Donors may give at various levels of campaign categories such as All-America ($1,000 or more), Team Captain ($500 - $999), Goal Keeper ($400 - $499), Defender ($300 - $399), Midfielder ($200 - $299) and Attacker ($50 - $199). Giving to lacrosse at the All-America level qualifies donors for membership in the Chancellor's Council, UCSB's premiere giving society.
An option to endow a program component is also available. These program components are represented by the expenses involved in Travel, Coaching, Equipment, Uniforms, Officiating, Membership Fees, Publicity, Recruiting and Student-Athlete Support. Prospective donors may contact Laurie Hoyle, Director of Development for Student Affairs by phone to (805) 893-5037 or e-mail to
