Recent News:2008 Nationals in Boulder, Colorado Once again, the Skirts finished second at Nationals! Seeded 5th coming into the tournament, the Skirts went 3-0 on Friday beating MIT and Wake Forest in the morning and upsetting Ottowa in a hard fought game on Friday afternoon. Saturday, the Skirts beat Wisconsin in the quarterfinals, which was a satisfying victory after the universe point loss to Bella Donna in the quarters of Centex. Then the Skirts faced arch rivals UCLA in the semifinals. This was one of the cleanest games the two teams have ever played with very few contested calls or turns. The Skirts had only 8 turns while UCLA had 10 turns resulting a two point Skirts victory. Sundays finals were just as windy as ever. The Skirts got out to an early lead taking half 8-6. After UBC adjusted their defense, the Skirts could not hang on resulting in a UBC victory. The third time must be the charm as the Skirts vamp up for the 2008-2009 season. Final results from Nationals: Friday Round 1: UCSB def. MIT 15-4 Round 2: UCSB def. Wake Forest 15-13 Round 3: UCSB def. Ottowa 15-10 Saturday Round 1: UCSB def. Wisconsin 15-9 Round 2: UCSB def.
